Code 4, Limit Valve Reset Switch Closed
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Measure resistance between ECM harness connector terminal No. 4 and ground. See Figure .
- If resistance reading is more than 10 k/ohms, check RWAL ECM connections. If connections are okay, replace RWAL ECM. If resistance reading is less than 10 k/ohms, disconnect pressure limit valve connector.
- Measure resistance between limit valve reset switch connector terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 4. See Figure . If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace pressure limit valve.
- If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, measure resistance between valve connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If resistance is less than 100 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Blue wire of harness.
- If resistance is more than 100 k/ohms, firmly press brake pedal. Measure resistance between limit valve terminal No. 2 and ground terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace pressure limit valve. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace RWAL ECM.
- Clear Code 4 by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 5 seconds.
