Code 3, Open Dump Solenoid Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Measure resistance between RWAL ECM terminal No. 9 and ground. See Figure .
  2. If resistance reading is 1-3 ohms, check RWAL ECM connections. If connections are okay, replace RWAL ECM.
  3. If resistance reading is more than 3 ohms, disconnect pressure limit valve. Measure resistance between limit valve terminal No. 3 and ground terminal No. 4. See Figure .
  4. If resistance is now 1-3 ohms, repair open in harness White/Green or Black wire. If resistance is more than 3 ohms, dump solenoid winding is open. Replace pressure limit valve.
