Gear Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

- Disconnect negative cable from battery.

5th Gear Switch Connector Location:

- Disconnect 5th switch connector. The connector is located beside igniter.

Checking 5th Gear Switch:

- Connect ohmmeter to 5th switch terminals of disconnected connector and check for continuity.

CONDITION METER INDICATION
Shift lever in 5th 0
gear position (Zero)


Shift lever in any
other position than (Infinity)
5th gear position

- If check result is not satisfactory, replace 5th switch or repair wire harness.
- Connect 5th switch connector and battery negative cable.
