Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

- With ignition off, disconnect electrical connector from VSV.

Checking Power Steering VSV Resistance:

- Check resistance between VSV terminals.

RESISTANCE VALUE
33 - 39 ohms

- Disconnect vacuum hoses.

Checking Power Steering VSV Operation:

- With electrical connector disconnected, blow air into nozzle "A". Air should not come out of nozzle "B".

Checking Power Steering VSV Operation:

- Connect 12 VDC to VSV terminals,blow air into nozzle "A". Air should come out of nozzle "B".

- Replace solenoid if it fails above tests.
