Shift Solenoid Check

  1. Disconnect shift solenoid coupler from harness. Apply 12 volts to each terminal in solenoid coupler. Ensure click sound is heard. See Figure .
  2. Shift solenoid circuit resistance can be checked with an ohmmeter at controller connector. With ignition switch in OFF position, disconnect controller connector. Place ohmmeter probes on coupler terminals from harness side and measure solenoid resistance. Refer to the SHIFT SOLENOID RESISTANCE  table in this article. Also, see Figure .
