Low Band Servo

- Raise and support vehicle. Remove transmission fluid pan. Remove filter screen. Remove Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) pipes from valve body. Disconnect wires from TCC solenoid and fluid pressure switch.
- Remove 6 bolts securing reinforcement plate and remove reinforcement plate. Remove 4 bolts and low band piston servo cover.
- Hold servo piston with open-end wrench. See Fig 1 . Loosen lock nut on adjusting sleeve. Using a torque wrench with a 5 mm Allen head socket, tighten servo piston adjusting screw to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m.).
- Back off servo piston adjusting screw exactly 5 turns. Tighten lock nut to 14 ft. lbs. (19 N.m.). Ensure adjusting screw does not turn while tightening lock nut.
- Replace servo piston cover gasket. Install servo piston cover and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m.). Install reinforcement plate and tighten to 14 ft. lbs. (19 N.m). To complete installation reverse removal procedure. Tighten retaining bolts to specification see TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
