Air Temperature Sensor (SOHC)

  1. Disconnect air temperature sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between Gray wire (SOHC) terminals and ground. If voltage is not 4-5 volts, check sensor resistance or wiring harness for open or short.
  2. Remove air temperature sensor and place it in water with a thermometer. Heat water to specified temperature and check resistance. See AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE table. Replace air temperature sensor if resistance is not within specification.
