Manual Shifting Test
NOTE:
Perform manual shifting test if no trouble codes exist. Manual shifting test determines if problem area is in electrical circuits or a mechanical transmission problem.
- Start and operate vehicle until at normal operating condition. Disconnect TCM connector. See Figure and Figure . Road test vehicle and ensure transmission gear changes corresponds with shift lever position. See GEAR APPLICATION table.
- If abnormality exists, a mechanical transmission problem exists. If all gears are correct, perform trouble shooting in accordance with the symptom. See SYMPTOM TROUBLE SHOOTING . Turn ignition off.
- Reconnect electrical connector. Clear trouble codes from TCM memory, as disconnecting electrical connector may set a trouble code. See CLEARING CODES .
