Code 3, Open Dump Solenoid Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Measure resistance between RWAL ECM terminal No. 17 and ground. See Figure.
  2. If resistance reading is 1-3 ohms, check RWAL ECM connections. If connections are okay, replace RWAL ECM.
  3. If resistance reading is greater than 3 ohms, disconnect pressure limit valve. Measure resistance between limit valve terminal No. 1 and ground terminal No. 4. See Figure.
  4. If resistance is now 1-3 ohms, repair open in harness White/Green or Black wire. If resistance is greater than 3 ohms, dump solenoid winding is open. Replace pressure limit valve.
