Valve Body Assembly

  1. Position steel check balls into case oil passages. See Figure . Locate guide pin in case. See Figure . Install new transfer plate-to-case gasket. Install bolts holding transfer plate to valve body.
  2. Install manual valve into valve body bore using liberal amount of transmission fluid. Install long side of manual valve link into valve, then install short end of link into selector lever as valve body and transfer plate are installed over guide pins.
  3. Install attaching bolts in original positions. Tighten valve body attaching bolts by starting at the center and working outward. Install selector lever roller spring and retainer. Install reinforcement plate bolts to case and tighten.
