Steering Wheel & Horn Pad: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On Swift GT, to remove horn pad, turn it counterclockwise while pressing down, until it stops. On all other models, pull horn pad upward to remove it.
  2. Remove steering wheel upper and lower covers or bumper (if equipped) and disconnect horn wire. Remove steering wheel nut. Make reference marks on steering wheel and steering shaft for installation reference. Use Steering Wheel Puller (09944-36010 or 09944-36011) to remove steering wheel from steering shaft.
