Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Shift Switch Connector Location:

Checking Swift Switch:

- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Disconnect A/T position switch connector.
- Connect an ohm meter between BLACK/YELLOW and BLACK/RED wires in switch connector.
- Check for continuity as follows.

In PARK And NEUTRAL Continuity
Other Than PARK And NEUTRAL No Continuity

- Connect an ohm meter between YELLOW and RED wires in switch connector.
- Check for continuity as follows.

In REVERSE Continuity
Other Than REVERSE No Continuity

- If results differ, adjust switch.
- If adjustment does not remedy faults, replace switch.
