Clutch Start Switch Adjustments

  1. Apply parking brake firmly. Place gearshift lever in Neutral. Disconnect wire at switch. Loosen lock nut and turn switch outward. Depress clutch pedal to floor. Release clutch pedal to its adjustment height position. See CLUTCH START SWITCH ADJUSTMENT  table.
  2. Connect ohmmeter to clutch start switch terminals. Slowly screw switch in until it is on. Hold switch at this position and tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at end of article. Ensure when clutch pedal is fully depressed against floor that switch plunger still has .02-.04 (.5-1 mm) of travel left. This will protect switch from damage due to bottoming out internally. Connect wire to switch.
