Upper Case & Shifter Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Install reverse gear shift fork to reverse gear shift shaft and drive in spring pin. Install reverse gear shift shaft and interlock ball to upper case. Place shaft in Neutral position.
  2. Install interlock pin to high speed shift shaft. Install shaft and high speed shift fork. Drive in spring pin and install interlock ball. Place shaft in Neutral position.
  3. Install low speed gear shift shaft and low speed gear shift fork. Drive in spring pin. Install locating balls, springs and spring bolts. Torque bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  4. Install rubber plugs and back-up light switch. Torque both switches to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). Inspect interlock system for proper operation.
