Speedometer drive gear, driven gear and driven gear housing have been modified. Dimensions of drive gear remain the same, but heat treatment has been changed. New dimensions for driven gear and housing are shown. See Fig 1. Late parts are interchangeable with early parts. DO NOT substitute early parts for late model parts. VIN numbers of affected models are as follows:
- JS3JC31C M4102618 and above.
- JS4JC31C M4102618 and above.
- JS3JD31C M4101667 and above.
- JS4JD31C M4101667 and above.
NOTE:
Late model speedometer driven gear and gear housing are interchangeable with early parts only if both are replaced as a set.
