Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Suzuki XL7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor.
- Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the duct temp sensor ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor parameter is greater than 250 counts (4.9 volts).
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor signal circuit terminal 1 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the HVAC control module.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor signal circuit terminal 1 and ground. Verify the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor parameter is less than 5 counts (0.20 volts).
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the HVAC control module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate upper or lower duct temp sensor.
