Ignition Timing: Adjustments

When checking ignition timing, ensure engine is at normal operating temperature and running at specified curb idle speed, with headlamps, heater fan, rear defogger (if equipped) and A/C (if equipped) off. Connect timing light sensor lead to No. 1 spark plug lead, without piercing insulation of lead. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS for specified ignition timing, firing order and timing mark identification.
