Removal and Installation

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect distributor lead coupler and vacuum lines, if necessary. Then remove distributor cap.
3. Remove distributor flange bolts, then distributor housing from engine.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install distributor into camshaft. Fit protrusions of distributor coupling into slots of camshaft, Fig. 7. Protrusions of distributor are offset, if protrusions can not be fitted into slots turn distributor shaft 180 degrees.

2. Lightly install flange bolts, then distributor cap seal and cap.
3. Connect distributor lead coupler.
4. Check initial timing setting as described in ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
