Pick-Up Coil: Adjustments

Fig. 26 Adjusting Air Gap:

1. Remove distributor cap and rotor.
2. Using feeler gauge, measure air gap between signal rotor tooth and generator, Fig. 26. Air gap should be .0079--.0118 inch.
3. If gap is not within specifications, loosen signal generator attaching screws.
4. Using flathead screwdriver, move generator to adjust gap to specification.
5. After adjustment, tighten attaching screws and recheck air gap.
6. Install distributor cap and rotor.
