Section 7 (1.3L 4-CYL - VIN [3]): Overhaul: Valves

- Remove carbon deposits. Inspect for wear, burns or distortion at face and stem. Replace as necessary. Measure valve head margin. Check valve stem end for pitting or wear.
- Measure valve length. Valve stem end may be resurfaced if no more than .14" (3.6 mm) is removed from valve length. See VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Using "V" block and dial gauge, check valve head radial runout. Maximum limit is .003 (.08 mm). If runout exceeds limit, replace valve.
