SUBJECT

Outside Rear Door Handle Does Not Function

REFERENCE

Suzuki of America Corp., Service Bulletin, No. TS 1-07 10260, November, 1990

CONDITION & CAUSE

The outside rear door handle may not function on some 1990 Swift vehicles that were produced before October, 1990. Condition may be caused by rear door handle latch rod link bending and breaking due to latch lever being out of alignment and binding.

REPAIR

1. Cut lock tabs off plastic rod. Ensure cut is square and that there is a little of tab still on rod.
2. Reinstall rod through lever and use 3/32" (2.4 mm) wide mini strap.
3. Cut excess off flush with tie strap lock collar.
