Dashpot Adjustment (DOHC)

  1. Ensure transmission is in Park or Neutral and parking brake is set. Start and warm engine to operating temperature. Turn all accessories off. Ensure idle speed is within specification. See the IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. Operate throttle lever to increase and decrease engine RPM while noting RPM at which dashpot rod contacts throttle lever. Adjust dashpot adjusting screw to specified RPM at which dashpot rod should contact throttle lever. See Figure and Figure . See DASHPOT ADJUSTMENT  table.

(1) Engine speed when throttle lever contacts dashpot rod after deceleration.
