Planetary Carrier: Inspection
- Inspect planetary carrier and output shaft for distortion or damage. Inspect planetary pinions for excessive wear or damage, such as chipped teeth.
- Check end play of all planetary pinions using a feeler gauge at points "A" and "B". See Fig 1 . End play should be .005-.035" (.127-.89 mm). If end play is not as specified, replace complete planetary carrier.
- Tighten planetary carrier lock plate retaining screws to 20-35 ft. lbs. (27-48 N.m)
