Steering Gear: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove radiator lower cover. Remove tie rod ends cotter pins and castle nuts. Using Puller (09913-65210), remove tie rods from steering knuckles.
  2. Remove steering damper-to-center link attaching bolts. Remove cotter pins and castle nuts connecting center link to idler arm and pitman arm.
  3. Remove center link from pitman arm and idler arm with Puller (09913-65210). Remove flexible joint clamp bolt from pinion shaft. Remove steering gear attaching bolts and nuts. Remove steering gear.
