CONDITION
No or hard start/engine flooded when ambient temperatures is approximately 32°F. This condition is experienced especially in high altitude areas.
REPAIR
Install the countermeasure Cold Start Harness Set (P/N 36690-60A00). To prevent any damage to the ECM be sure to follow the following instructions!
- Be sure ignition switch is in the "OFF" position.
- Disconnect ECM connectors and pull harness down for service.
- Remove tape from harness to expose ECM's connector wires, as shown in Fig 1 .
- Using pliers, install wire splice clips onto specified wires.CAUTION: Wrong connection may cause damage to ECM. Therefore, observe the correct wire color for each connection.
- Reconnect ECM connectors.
- Using ECM cover screw, install cold start set and black ground wire.
- As Illustrated in Fig 1 , tape cold start harness wires together to prevent interference with clutch pedal operation (if applicable).
- Confirm that the condition is resolved.
