Prizm (Transaxle)

  1. Remove drain plug and drain fluid. Reinstall plug. If filter is being replaced, remove oil pan. Clean pan and discard gasket.
  2. Noting bolt length for reassembly, remove filter screen bolts and filter screen. Install new filter screen, ensuring bolts are installed in original locations. See Fig 1. Tighten oil filter screen bolts to 84 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
  3. Install oil pan and tighten bolts to 43 INCH lbs. (4.9 N.m). Add ATF to transaxle. Start engine and recheck fluid level with transaxle in Park.
