Oil Pump: Reassembly

  1. When installing front unit thrust washer, ensure it is proper thickness as determined at disassembly. See FRONT UNIT END PLAY CHECK in TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLY . To reassemble remaining components, reverse disassembly procedure. Leave pump cover bolts one turn loose.
  2. Install Alignment Band (J-21368) to align cover and body. Tighten attaching bolts and remove alignment band. Install new square-cut "O" ring on pump. Install new pump oil seal on front of pump using Oil Seal Installer (J-21359).
