Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then TPS coupler.

2. Pull out valve wires from coupler as shown in Fig. 147.
3. Remove TPS from throttle body.

4. Install TPS to throttle body. Fit sensor to throttle body with adjusting holes a little away from sensor mounting bolt holes, Fig. 148. Turn sensor clockwise until holes align, then hand tighten mounting bolts.
5. Insert TPS terminals into coupler. Ensure terminals are locked into position in coupler.
6. Adjust throttle position sensor as outlined under ~``Adjustments.''
