Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) (Except Swift SOHC With M/T)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and TPS connector. See Figure through Figure .
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between indicated terminals. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not as specified, adjust TPS. See ADJUSTMENTS article. If resistance is not as specified after adjustment, replace TPS. For further diagnostic procedures, see TESTS W/CODES article.
