MODIFICATION OF TRANSFER CASE AND REDUCTION SHIFTING FORK
MODEL: SAMURAI
YEAR: 1988 AND LATER
Beginning Production Date: 6/87
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you of the following modification of the transfer case and reduction shifting fork:
1. Transfer case dimensions at the gearshifting shaft bore has been modified.
2. The reduction gearshifting fork dimensions have been modified.
3. Transfer case oil filler and claim plugs have been modified.
4. Parts Supply Data.
MODIFICATION OF GEARSHIFTING SHAFT BORE
1.^ The transfer case dimensions at the gearshifting shaft bore have been modified as illustrated.
MODIFICATION OF GEARSHIFTING FORK
2.^ The reduction gearshifting fork dimensions have been modified as illustrated.
MODIFICATION OF OIL FILLER AND DRAIN PLUGS
3.^ The transfer case oil filler and drain plugs have been modified from parallel thread type to taper thread type. Similarly, the oil filler and drain holes in the transfer case have been also modified.
Do not over torque Taper thread plug as it may contact shifting components; therefore, preventing shifting.

Beginning Production Date: 12/87
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you of the transfer gear shift control lever modification, which has been effective since the December 1987 production. Please also refer to our bulletin No. TS 3-05 08070 entitled: "MODIFICATION OF TRANSFER CASE AND REDUCTION SHIFTING FORK, as both of these bulletins are related.
