Fuel Rails (PFI): Removal
- Relieve fuel system pressure. Remove engine coolant reservoir. Remove cover from main fuse box. Detach main fuse box from body. Unplug fuel pump relay. See Fig 1
.
- Remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapor pressure in tank. Reinstall fuel filler cap. Start engine and run until it runs out of fuel.

- To remove fuel rail, disconnect negative battery cable. Remove idle speed control solenoid valve and EGR modulator bracket from intake manifold. Disconnect fuel delivery and return hoses from fuel rail. Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
- Unplug injector couplers from injectors. Remove 2 mounting bolts and lift off fuel rail and injectors. Remove injectors from fuel rail.
