TPS Adjustment

  1. With negative battery cable and TPS connector disengaged, loosen TPS attaching screws. Place a .025" (.65 mm) thickness gauge between adjustment screw and stop lever.
  2. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "C" and "D". See Fig 1 . Slowly rotate TPS to locate the position that ohmmeter changes from zero continuity to infinity. With TPS sensor in this position, tighten attaching screws to 30 inch lbs. (3.4 N.m) and repeat inspection procedure to verify correct operation.

Between Terminals A-C 3500-6500
Between Terminals B-C
At Idle 0-500
Wide Open Throttle 3500-6500
(1) Selected thickness gauge between throttle stop screw and stop lever.
