Removal (Samurai & Sidekick)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel, horn pad and combination switch. See STEERING WHEEL & HORN PAD  and COMBINATION SWITCH in this article.
  2. Remove lower instrument panel cover. Remove "U" joint clamp bolt. Separate steering shafts at "U" joint. Unplug wiring connectors to steering column switches. Remove steering column floorboard bracket bolts. Remove steering column upper bracket bolts. Pull steering column from floorboard.
