Coolant Temperature Sensor

Coolant temperature sensor is located on side of cylinder head. Its thermistor changes resistance with respect to temperature. High temperature causes low resistance. Low temperature causes high resistance. A reference voltage (supplied and monitored by control unit) is modified by sensor resistance. Control unit uses this information to determine control (output) signals to injector(s), emission components and timing devices.
