EGR Vacuum Solenoid

  1. Solenoid is located at rear of engine compartment in center. Turn ignition off. Disconnect solenoid connector. Turn ignition on. Check White/Blue solenoid wire for battery voltage. Battery voltage is supplied by EFI main relay from the main fuse. Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, check solenoid resistance. Solenoid resistance should be 33-39 ohms.
  2. Remove vacuum hoses from solenoid. Connect short section of hose to center fitting of solenoid. Blow through hose. Air should exit through lower capped filter. Reconnect solenoid connector. Turn ignition on. Blow through hose. Air should exit through upper fitting. Replace solenoid or repair ground circuit from control unit if solenoid does not respond as described.
