EGR Temperature Sensor (California)

Remove negative battery cable. Disconnect EGR temperature sensor wiring harness connector and remove sensor. Sensor is threaded into EGR valve. With ohmmeter attached to temperature sensor terminals, position sensor threads in container of water with thermometer. Apply heat to container until specified temperature is obtained. See EGR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. Replace EGR temperature sensor if specified value is not obtained.
