SERVICE INFORMATION

The following amendments and tips are to be used with the Suzuki/Nippondenso A/C installation manual (p/n 99963-01501-028). This information should prove helpful during installation of Swift air conditioning. The tips are supplementary to the installation manual, and refer to pages and figures in the installation manual.   1. The FRS/REC control cable must be disconnected prior to removal of the glove box cover. The cable is attached to the cover with three plastic clips.
  2. For ease during reassembly, remove bolts 1 and 2 when removing the blower unit.

Remove the blind cap from the center console panel by grasping and pulling away from the panel face. The blind cap has small tension clips on top and bottom.

  1. The original 8-P harness connector is not used prior to A/C installation.
  2. (C) Connect the harness connectors prior to fastening the harness in place with plastic ties. This will insure that the A/C harness neither loose or stretched.

Use refrigerant oil on the grommet and drain hose to ease assembly procedures.

Position the clamp with the open side toward the interior of the vehicle. This will ease the removal of the clamp (if necessary) at a later date.

(C) Verify correct operation of the FRS/REC door.

(G) The air cleaner housing and hose assembly will need to be removed.

(C) Tighten the idler pulley mounting bolt. Tightening torque: 400 kg-cm (29.0 ft-lbs).

Verify the positioning and fit of the A/C harness by noting the connection locations of the VSV (page 22) and Lo-Pressure switch (page 19).

When routing the A/C harness, avoid brackets and edges which could pinch or otherwise damage the wiring inside.

The two A/C Relays are interchangeable.

Maintain adequate clearance when routing the harness past the EGR valve.

When securing the magnetic clutch lead wire to the suction hose, avoid securing to the metal portion on the hose end.
