Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine coolant so level is below throttle body. Remove air intake case from throttle body.
  2. Disconnect accelerator cable and automatic transmission kickdown cable (if equipped) from throttle body. Unplug injector, throttle position sensor and idle speed control solenoid couplers at throttle body.
  3. Label all vacuum hoses and disconnect hoses from throttle body. Disconnect coolant hose from air valve on throttle body.
  4. Relieve fuel system pressure, remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapor pressure in tank. Disconnect coupler "A" from control relay. See Figure . Start engine. Let engine run until it runs out of fuel.
  5. Remove fuel feed line from throttle body and fuel return line from fuel pressure regulator. Remove 4 mounting bolts and lift throttle body off of intake manifold.
