Coolant Temperature Sensor

Remove negative battery cable and drain cooling system. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor wiring harness connector and remove sensor from intake manifold. With ohmmeter attached to coolant temperature sensor terminals, position sensor threads in container of water with thermometer. Apply heat to container until specified temperature is obtained. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. Replace coolant temperature sensor if specified value is not obtained.
