EGR Vacuum Solenoid

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect solenoid connector. Turn ignition on. Check Light Green/Red solenoid wire for battery voltage. Battery voltage is supplied by control relay terminal "E". Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter check solenoid resistance. Continuity should exist.
  2. Remove vacuum hoses from solenoid. Connect short section of hose to center fitting of solenoid. Blow through hose. Air should exit through capped filter. Reconnect solenoid connector. Turn ignition on. Blow through hose. Air should exit through lower fitting. Replace solenoid or repair ground circuit from control unit if solenoid does not respond as described.
