SERVICE INFORMATION

The purpose of this bulletin is to provide you with the following changes of the side thrust washer of the rear differential gear:

SERVICE PROCEDURE CHANGE

A. Install late type spring washer and thrust washer as shown in Fig 3 .

B. Apply a little oil to differential pinion, gear, shaft, and washer.

C. Install differential pinion and gear on the right case and verify that they turn smoothly. (See Fig 4 ).

D. Tighten differential bevel gear bolts to the torque specification and then check that differential side gear (left side) preload is within the specified range. (See Fig 5 ).

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Bevel gear bolts: 90 - 100 Nm, 9.0 - 10.0 kg-m, 65.5 - 72.0 lb-ft

Diff side gear (left side) preload 0-2.5 Nm, 0-2.5 kg-cm, 0-21.7 lb-ft
