Description & Operation: Thermistor

When the evaporative temperature of the refrigerant drops to 32°F (0°C) or below, the evaporator fins will develop frost or ice, reducing evaporator core airflow and lowering its cooling capacity. The evaporator thermistor prevents frost or ice from forming on the evaporator core. The thermistor is installed on the evaporator.
