Idle-Up System
The idle-up system consists of a control unit regulated idle-up solenoid, idle-up actuator and input signals from marker lights, heater blower fan, rear window defogger (if equipped), high altitude compensation switch, coolant temperature switch, and engine speed signal (less than 1500 RPM on start-up). The idle-up system is used to control idle speed under varying electrical load and engine idle requirements. To maintain proper engine performance, the idle-up solenoid is energized to increase engine RPM.
