Fuel-Cut System
Fuel-cut solenoid power is provided when ignition switch is in the "ON" position. Control unit provides a ground circuit for solenoid when ignition is on and vehicle is not decelerating. When ignition is turned off, power and ground to solenoid are removed, preventing engine run-on. During deceleration, control ground circuit is turned off by the control unit, causing the fuel-cut solenoid to close off the fuel delivery passage, preventing fuel flow and reducing HC and CO emissions.
System is regulated by control unit based upon coolant switch (warmed up), idle switch (closed) and RPM (greater than 2400 RPM) inputs.
