Temperature Sensor (Bi-Metallic Air Bleed)

  1. Remove temperature sensor from air cleaner. DO NOT  touch bi-metallic element of sensor. Temperature sensor must be checked when temperature is less than 77°F (25°C). Connect a hand-held vacuum pump to one vacuum fitting. Connect a vacuum gauge to the other fitting. Apply vacuum. Vacuum gauge should record vacuum. Vacuum should hold.
  2. Gradually warm temperature sensor. As sensor approaches 104°F (40°C), vacuum should bleed from gauge.
