Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove air cleaner and carburetor.
2. Rotate fast idle cam counterclockwise, then install a suitable pin through holes in cam and bracket to lock cam in position.

3. Connect ohmmeter to terminals of idle microswitch as shown in Fig. 6. When throttle valve is in idle position, ohmmeter should indicate zero ohms.

4. Open throttle valve 1/4 to 1/2 as shown in Fig. 7. Ohmmeter should read infinity. If not, replace idle microswitch.
5. Open throttle valve slowly till throttle valve to carburetor bore clearance is .014--.024 inch (9.36--.62mm), and ohmmeter reading moves from zero to infinity.

6. If ohmmeter reading is not as specified, adjust by bending lever Fig. 8. Bend lever down when clearance is below specification and up when over specification.
