Before performing the following procedure, ensure vehicle is in Neutral for manual transmission or Park for automatics. Also, the A/C should be off, the parking brake should be set and the drive wheels should be blocked.
1. Ensure fuel cut solenoid valve clicks when ignition switch is turned on and off without starting engine.
2. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.
3. With transaxle in neutral and clutch engaged, increase engine speed to 3000--3500 RPM. Manually operate idle microswitch, and observe RPM change, Fig. 7.
4. Perform same check with clutch pedal depressed. Engine RPM should not change.
