Cold (Fast) Idle Rpm

NOTE: Fast idle check and adjustment should be performed with engine at room temperature, and idle-up system in normal operating conditions.
  1. Check that mark on cam and cam follower are aligned. See Figure . Disconnect hose from Three-Way Solenoid Valve (TWSV), and connect vacuum pump to hose leading to idle-up actuator.
  2. Apply 16 in. Hg to idle-up actuator. See Figure . Check clearance between actuator rod and idle-up adjusting screw. Clearance should be .10-.12" (2.5-3.0 mm).
