CONDITION

Some 1986-88 Samurai vehicles may develop hesitation or a "flat spot" during acceleration from partial to wide open throttle. To correct this condition, the manufacturer has released a vent tube nozzle (13211-831Z0) which must be installed in the carburetor throat.

REPAIR

Remove carburetor air cleaner. Close the choke plate to avoid dropping the vent tube nozzle into the carburetor. Use car to not damage the choke linkage.
Check the carburetor vent hole for dirt. Slip the vent tube nozzle over the installation tool so the tool ramp and nozzle ramp are aligned as illustrated. Install the nozzle so the slot in the top of the installation tool is facing straight upward.
Drive the nozzle into place using a ball peen hammer. Ensure the shoulder bottoms out on the carburetor body. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
