Instrument Panel: Removal

  1. Take off horn pad and remove steering wheel using Steering Wheel Remover (09944-38210). Disconnect radio and remove (if equipped). Disconnect cigar lighter and remove (if equipped). Pull out ashtray and loosen ashtray plate screws.
  2. Disconnect front hood opening cable from lock assembly. Loosen glove box stay screw and hood opening cable lock nut on back side of glove box. Disconnect cables from control lever. Pull out lever knobs and plate. Loosen lever case screws.
    NOTE: Ensure all hoses, wire harnesses, cables and screws are disconnected from instrument panel before removal.
  3. Remove defroster and side ventilator hoses. Disconnect instrument panel electrical connectors at speedometer and switches. Disconnect speedometer cable. Loosen clamps and release wiring harness from instrument panel. Unscrew instrument panel and remove.
